Rodrigues was born in Ardaos, Portugal, on Nov. 12, 1932, to Jose and Adelaide (nee Fernandes) Rodrigues. He became a member of the Laborers International Union in Norwalk.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alcina (Cotas) Rodrigues.
Rodrigues is survived by his children, Jose Rodrigues and Diana Maldinado, Joaquim Rodrigues and Nicole Peloquin, Michael Rodrigues and his wife, Melissa, David Rodrigues, Fatima Fernandes and husband, Jose, Isabel Borges and husband, Eusebio, Adelaide Carvalho and husband, Jose, Laurentina Teixeira and husband, Carlos, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three brothers, Joao Rodrigues and wife, Ana, Joaquim Rodrigues and wife, Laurinda, and Francisco Rodrigues and wife, Ana; and three sisters, Maria DosSantos and husband Raphael, Candida Trapasso, and Laurentina DaSilva and husband Manuel.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, at 559 Washington Ave. in Bridgeport.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 8 a.m. at the funeral home and at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, located at 429 Huntington Road in Bridgeport.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
